In their report, LCC planning officers said shale gas exploration was in principle “acceptable”, and the impacts on air quality, greenhouse gas emissions, landscape, water resources and seismic movements at the sites were low or could be controlled.
My take - If the UK is willing to give up energy security and access to clean natural gas due to the noise and traffic caused by eight weeks of heavy truck traffic, then the UK deserves what it gets. Send all the jobs, investment and energy security somewhere where they don't mind a little extra traffic for two months.
