Whats wrong with a paid parental leave policy where low income earners get a lower amount???
Fact: higher income earners pay more tax. A mother getting $75,000 in parental leave has probably paid $50,000 in tax per year.
A mother earning $30,000 pa (and gettting $15,000 paid leave) is lucky to have paid $4,000 pa.
A higher income earner would require a greater financial incentive to give up work to have kids.
Whats wrong with rewarding people who contribute more to the financial stability of our nation?? Everyone is up the higher income earners but without them the 'working family' is up the creek.
