Personally I couldn't care less, the event happened before Abbott was in power and therefore theoretically had nothing to do with him. If anything Rudd should be the one apologising, or Julia should as a representative of the party under whom the tap took place.
Though I fail to see the need for any of them to apologise to Indonesia TBH just because Indonesia is acting like a 2 year old about the whole thing. And I highly doubt that they haven't got us bugged or at least tried to.
Also, this probably all happens as a matter of course for the country's spies and the moron politicians wouldn't have had a say in it either way.
