I am not convinced that Trump is the answer to Assange's prayers. On a personal level, Trump would be conflicted. On the one hand, Trump and Assange have a lot in common in that they are enemies of the deep state, are despised by Washington and are both the "great disrupters". It might be a case of "the enemy of my enemy is my friend", especially after the Hillary email dumps. On the other hand, Trump is a patriot and I doubt he would support or condone Assange's actions. Actually, I am pretty certain Trump would see him as a threat or a traitor to the west.

One thing is for sure, Trump would be surrounded by PLENTY who want to see Assange put away for life. It would be very tough call for Trump to eventually pardon Assange. If he does, it will probably be because of his own experience of being subjected to the full force of the corrupt deep state and that experience may soften his stance towards Assange.
