SkyNews Patrick Staveley Digital Reporter Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has voted for a motion calling for Julian Assange to return to Australia almost 15 years after publishing secret US government files on WikiLeaks. The motion, put forward by independent MP Andrew Wilkie, passed after it was voted for by 86 members of the House including the PM as well as members from the Opposition and the Greens. Opposition Leader Peter Dutton voted against the motion along with 41 others including many colleagues in the Coalition such as deputy leader Sussan Ley and Nationals leader David Littleproud. ________ AndrewWilkieMP Independent Member for Clark, Andrew Wilkie, today successfully moved a motion calling on the House of Representatives to recognise the importance of bringing Julian Assange’s extradition to an end and allowing him to return home. Shamefully the Opposition, except the Member for Bass, Bridget Archer, voted against the motion. The vote marks an unprecedented show of political support for Mr Assange by the Australian Parliament. Not quite sure where Duttons support was.

Kind of ironic hey ?- this week we had all the gnashing of teeth, uproar, banging of drums, outrage, calls for dismissal etc, when Fatima Payman crossed the floor on a matter of principal. Then we had Bridget who did. And then we had the intrepid Barnaby, who did not cross the floor, sober, on TV claiming some of the credit for Julian's release. Forgive me for my rolling on the floor and ....
