The Australian government should have come to the defense of journalist Julian Assange long ago. How the Australian government could just remain silent when one of our citizens is being persecuted because he dared to expose war crimes is a national disgrace. Julian Assange should be held up as a hero. The world needs courageous journalists to expose these crimes. We are all in trouble if governments are able to act with impunity.
