With a quick skim through the article, I don't think he addresses the plight of genuine UNHCR refugees who are waiting in camps for settlement.

Any unauthorised asylum seekers who are arriving by boat for our free handouts are taking the places of those likely in a far more needy position.

It is for this reason I think the unauthorised boat arrivals should be stopped and preference given to those in the greatest need.
