Labor's chief "faceless man" is Tony Windsor's first cousin, Bruce Hawker, CEO of Hawker Britten. He is Labor's chief campaign strategist.

Changing back to Rudd seems to me the worst idea in Australian political history, if that's indeed the desperate ploy. Rudd himself seems to see himself as some sort of "beloved" national icon. One of the pitfalls of the heavily egotistic.

eg: Purchase a tough steak (very expensive) at the your favorite butcher. Have cooked it at the barbie and found it inedible - tough, chewy, and not worth the money.

Go back to said butcher for more fot the dinner party, complain, and ask him for a replacement steak. That's too tough too. Tougher - chewier - and even more expensive. Impossible to eat in fact.

Return to the butcher - and ask him for some of the first steak - you know that's all he has left in stock, (except that really scraggy cheap stewing stuff over there), so you and your next guests will just have to chew harder. The butcher has gall - he charges you more as well. Says - I told you this was the best I had.

(You, meanwhile, go look for a new butcher).

Mr. Rudd is touigh steak. He's had his go - mucked up, in sometimes deadly inneffective policy collusions with Gillard, to the point of being stealthily "killed off" by his own party who told us, virtually, by way of excusing their perfidy, he's "no good." Public are now very wary of him. Why on earth would they bring him back.

Like any elite football team, if there's no depth of good substitute players to call on, the team will lose every match every time.

If we're lumbered with him again - then at least, surely, we get an instant election? If not, why not? Or are we consigned to the dirge of watching this continual, debilitating game of socialists playing musical chairs?

Completely oblivious to us - the actual people they're supposed to represent? Breathtaking arrogance. And a total
insult to the public who work hard to generate their spending monies.
