The Indonesian government has apologised.
""The Foreign Ministry in Jakarta yesterday disowned the account of the meeting, with officials saying that the 1100-word document was an internal memorandum released in error.
It posted a statement saying: "The material is not a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. The aforementioned meeting was a private meeting and no official press release was issued."
Diplomatic sources in Canberra said the latest Indonesian statements were intended to send Canberra a clear message, "Sorry, we stuffed up", smoothing relations before Mr Abbott's two-day visit."
