The animal studies demonstrated motoric improvement after 4 months on ATH434. I guess that that needs some better myelinization of the nerves. The original plan was to see if the "poisonous" iron overload would go down and take alpha-synuclein with it. This was seen in the animal studies. When measuring separately the volume and the iron, the picture becomes clearer when a possible change in motor skills is explained.
Originally the study was planned to last less than 1 year, but now it is 12 months. There will be this month a few cases (perhaps 3-4) who have completed 12 months on ATH434. If myelination happens, these cases are valuable in demonstrating better motoric skills than those on ATH434 only 6 months.
