ANZ.AU. Overnight, sugar futures hit 29-year high in a market still focused on lower crops in Brazil, India. March sugar settled up 136 points at 28.98 U.S. cents per pound on ICE Futures U.S. from Friday after markets closed Monday for public holiday; May contract rose 114 points to 27.52 cents. Late in session, March sugar topped previous life-of-contract high of 28.95 cents from Jan. 7, peaking at 29.06 cents--most muscular level for a front-month contract since January 1981. (RCB)
