Aminex plc is an independent oil and gas exploration and production company fully listed on the London Stock Exchange, with exploration assets in the USA, Tanzania, Kenya, Madagascar, Egypt and Korea.

Following recent exploration success offshore Tanzania, Aminex plc is looking to expand its exploration team and recruit an Exploration Geophysicist for its London office.

Candidates will ideally have:

At least 10 – 15 years experience, to assist primarily with its ongoing East African exploration programme.
A predominantly international background with significant exposure to frontier environments.
Previous experience of working in a small but dynamic operating company.
You will be a key player in a small team reporting to the Exploration Director, and should have good demonstrable all-round abilities and be able to integrate a variety of geophysical and geological datasets relevant to exploration and development. Extensive 2D as well as 3D seismic experience (including a sound knowledge of basic processing and acquisition techniques), competent workstation experience (preferably Kingdom), and proficiency with regional to prospect mapping and prospect generation, risk assessment and volumetric analysis in frontier environments are basic requirements. Familiarity with seismic modelling techniques, a sound knowledge of stratigraphic, structural geological, and sedimentological principles, coupled with strong written and verbal communication skills, are essential. The ability to multi-task in several different disciplines and projects at any one time in a small company environment is a distinct advantage. You will be expected to be available for regular international travel on an as-needed basis.
