At the moment the Chinese will have to up their offer by 3 or 4 cents even if no alternative offer is received. That is unless their is some heavy downward manipulation by their camp in the next three weeks. Maybe they will go unconditional in the last week to pick up whatever they can and then have another go with an extension.

STO & NHC & Japanese don't seem to be that phased or in that much of a hurry. Maybe they want to wait and see if WCL can actually get the drilling results and flow rates required to deliver.

Petro China with Harcourt's Mungi field adjoining (ex MPO)are really boxed in, as WCL has the head lease.
