a company cannot stop another company from making spurious announcements. AJM tried to preempt the potential damage by quickly releasing an announcement that yes there are discussions, but non-binding, non-definitive and (I forget the 3rd)

But I do agree that it's such a looong story, hard to keep reminding people of how it came about.

And yes, it partly brought home to me that the sharemarket is largely about appearances.
