Your sentiments are reflected in the book of numerology I mentioned earlier in this thread.
Dr Phillips suggested we experience certain problems or difficulties depending on our birth date, name etc. We will have certain strengths and weaknesses and the point of this life is to overcome them and grow in consciousness.
His philosophies reflect an Eastern learnings, but Jung made the point that he understood the Eastern religions, but he developed his thoughts with western history in mind.
That suggests a convergence of philosophies from the East and West and that is why I like Jung--as he started from western myth and religious learnings and concluded God is the same for all--but not an anthropomorphic God.
