You raise some good points
My understanding is that we are seeing asset devaluation which is often confused with deflation. Deflation is a contraction of the money supply which again is different from the lack of credit. What is happening and will continue to happen from what I can gather having listened and read everything that I can is that the US government will cause inflation as they expand the money supply to cover the crisis through whatever means. Just have a look at the Feds balance sheet which has increased in a short period of time by $650b to well over $1.3trillion or there abouts.
