A nine-year-old boy has delivered a sermon in which he praised the sacrifice of "martyrs" and "mujahideen" fighting across the Middle East in a video shared by his father on Facebook.
The Daily Telegraph has published part of the video in which the child speaks into a microphone in Arabic while wearing a Puma hoodie, calling for his "brothers and sisters" to install an Islamic authority across the world.
In the video recorded during the holy month of Ramadan, the boy praised the work of mujahideens — warriors engaged in jihad — and called on his audience to sacrifice for Allah.
"The mujahideens in Syria and Afghanistan and in Palestine and all around the Muslim lands who know that only Islam can bring mercy to mankind," he said in an Australian accent.
"Let us take this opportunity, in this month (Ramadan)…by sacrificing everything for the sake of Allah."
The video was recorded in Sydney's west and posted to Facebook in July by the boy's father who describes the lad as someone who enjoys McDonald's and dinosaur exhibits.
The father has also shared anti-democracy posts along with images of Islamic fighters and others that carry the slogan "Muslims Rise, Caliphate Imminent".
Neither the boy nor his father were named by the paper, nor did they respond to requests for comment.
