People have to remember that the previously mined areas have been flogged to death in the past... and a bit of respect is required for the underground surveyours whom would have been very dilligent in the accuracy of the underground stopes as well as any pit crests. AS for overstatement in a resource... well prior to mining it may have been fine, but if they used the "prior to mining" numbers as an indication of the resource then Kempermans statements about management have been spot on. But all the same, bring nay consultant onto site for a resource calc and they will be VERY reserved in their results, VERY. Sometimes too much. What would be interesting to read is the paramters used. ie the "garbagy" practice of 1gm shells and a ID extimation. And as always trying to go back and open stopes by cleaning up back s and walls is fraught with danger and economic danger, again a mangement issue of trying toramp up something that will NEVER happen in a high grade mine.
