I have got out of it on more than 4 occasions as a self employed person as the damage done by closing my business would be massive and i then could not pay my bills. Hardship.
Give me $2000 a day like the rest of the over[paid people in there and i would look at it. But at $75 a day they are dreaming.

Your reasons would be well and truly adequate here...

Justis, for some reason my wife decided to "do her duty" and be a juror, got lumbered
with a murder trial, took 3 weeks, locked up in a hotel room for 4 nights because they
couldn't reach a verdict...Disrupted the household no end...

I'm in WA

As I said the laws have been changed here so you can no longer get out of Jury even if you are self employed, trust me I tried.

Employers can't get you out, unless you are one of those exempt professionals
