Mate, all she can do is apply for an exemption listing all the reason why it would be impractical to do Jury duty.
On a previous occasion I managed to get out of jury duty because I was a sole trader/self employed but the tighten the exemptions right up and last time I could not get out of it. You can apply for one deferral and with any luck your name doesn't get picked again for for some time but if it does you can get out of it.
As a last resort you can attend court for jury duty and if you get selected as a juror announce to the judge/magistrate that " You are a person who may not be indifferent between the parties in a trial" that will have you disqualified hopefully on the first day.
When I did attend for Jury Duty, the person who's case I had been assigned to pleaded guilty and we where out by mid day
