Good link there Fresher. As expected all the market commentators with vested interests are talking things up. Same happened in 2000 to calm the tech investors. They believed what they heard and bought the rallies only to see most of the shares turn to dust. After '87 we were told of all the great bargains awaiting us, but come '91 we'd seen little if not negative returns.

This is not the same yet, but the US economy can't continue along incurring trillions of dollars of debt. When is the music going to stop and who will be paying off their deficit? What will happen to China and other Asian economies if this happens. What are the implications for Australia following this? Something has to happen eventually, almost all agree on that, but as is typical of human behaviour we like to think the problems wont affect us and lay way out in the future, years from now (just like global warming and rising sea levels).
