Halcyon identifies 3 anomalies at Bardoc Project
16:20, Thursday, 3 June 2004
Sydney - Thursday - June 3: (RWE) - Halcyon Group Ltd today
announced a geophysical survey at the Bardoc Project had identified
three anomalies that could represent nickel sulphide mineralisation.
The geophysical program, completed in March this year, comprised
a ground-based Electro Magnetic survey, designed to test six target
areas associated with the 13 kilometres of prospective komatiite units.
"The company is very encouraged by the anomalies identified to
date as they are associated with the highly prospective 'basal contact'
of the komatiite unit," technical director Mr Hamish Halliday said.
"This 'basal contact' is the hosts for the Scotia nickel
sulphide mine (endowment of 35,000 tonnes of Nickel metal) located just
10 kilometres to the north of Halcyon's tenement boundary," he said.
Following the identification of the three anomalies, the company
has initiated a second geophysical program involving a further 12 line
kilometres of infill EM, scheduled to commence later this month.
The aim of the second program is to further define the anomalies
in preparation for drill testing.
