Glencore's web site says they produce about 1.4m tonnes from their own sources (as distinct from their trading of the mineral). Global production of Zinc is about 13 million tonnes, so they are significant - but not dominant.
The Nyrstar website includes their 6 strategic priorities, including this one:
Streamline the asset base with a focus on smelting operations which may include mining asset disposals and a full exit from mining, further emphasizing Nyrstar’s focus on smelting operations considering the unique value proposition the assets have to offer following the Port Pirie Redevelopment.
This objective could mean that Nyrstar's stake in IBG is not a core holding.
