1. Why would a car travel 30km to pick up a fare driverless or not? Does that not defeat the network sharing mechanism? The whole point of sharing is not driverless vehicles but other vehicles relatively close by. You speak as though the driver equivalent salary is the biggest cost of a taxi fare when clearly it is not!
2. What is prohibitory expensive is paying for assets that are not need like parked cars at home, while you are working, at airports sitting idle. Thats not driverless vehicles, thats wasted spending on personal car ownership, including rego, insurance, sales tax/GST.
3. Again why would insurance go down. Insurance can go down for sharing cars as their should be less cars do involve in accidents particularly with parked vehicles. But that has nothing to do with driverless vehicles.
You biggest failure is u seem to ignore the cost of technology and network set-up,overhead, including asset use such as fuel whereas this is the biggest cost of the taxi fare!!
