Do we know if ANZ has finished liquidating the relevant AIM shareholdings as part of the Opus debacle? If not then the possible large bid in the morning and then pulling the bid before market open could be part of an attempt for ANZ to be selling their stock in an orderly fashion (imagine if ANZ suddenly dumped the stock ... price would be absolutely crucified).
Of course, if ANZ has finished their adjustments / sales then this possiblity is not applicable. Furthermore, I would have thought that if ANZ were finished selling they would have had to announce to ASX their adjusted holdings?
Any takes on this?
