depends on the degree plough. mechanical, chemical, mathematical, astronomy etc all have solid science backed real world applications but psych degrees, silly whale watching degrees, fashion design, journalism - all a waste of time and the people undertaking these would be better served getting an actual job
all the chinese I know have either a real world degree many who went on to get an accounting degrees sometimes with a masters. you wont see many taking easy ones like the arts degrees
