As I recall the JV partner wanted in because of the potential of the tenement. Obviously the JV partner and MEO see some additional value add, or upside that they are trying to capture, not getting all 100% of the gas for their train if that is the issue is not likely to scuttle the entire deal. I doubt anyone is going to walk away from the banquet because the soup is cold.
As for timing, I wonder if we will see movement in CUE before any announcement is made. It would be interesting to see if any CUE directors or friends and family have been buying and selling MEO over the last few weeks, after all they are in a perfect position to influence the share price.
