If it's future value (sales) that you are plugging for, dare I put the cat among the pigeons by highlighting the approaching requirement for an International Sales & Marketing Manager (this will fire up some posters !!).
It's right that Derek is front and centre negotiating these initial distributor contracts, but very quickly this will move to more an operational focus, and he needs to remain focussed on steering the entire business.

Distributors need a high degree of maintenance if you wish to extract the most from them. At a minimum weekly meeting with each for the first 6 months ( mainly in the early hours given the international nature of our chosen markets ), marketing collateral across multiple languages, co-ordinating input required for tenders, keeping distributors up to date with product developments ... etc. etc.

An exciting job for the right person, particularly when they can start travelling & meeting with the distributors using their IATA Travel Pass !
