I am contemplating buying a PHEV … too many trees for solar, so recently called AGL.
We were paying 42c/kwhr general rate and 22c/kwhr for off peak boost to solar hot water.
Our new plan includes 8c/kwhr midnight to 6am, a reduced general rate of 30c/kwhr and reduced off peak hot water rate of 15c/kwhr … we signed up straight away before even deciding on a PHEV.
Fwiw, the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV has an 80km range from a 20kw battery … so $1.60 for 80 km vs prob $8.00-9.00 for petrol … crazy eh!
