buffet is showing a bit of benevolence.......benevolence for his own self. By chucking 5bn here he is hoping the confidence he shows will rub off on the mkt as a whole. If the mkt tanks all his other holdings tank. So 5bn is small change. By doing this he is looking after his other stock..imo.
