D.J. Carmichael's morning review (20 Jan) has the following:
"NAB confirmed that the pre-tax loss arising from the
removal of fictitious trades from the foreign currency
options portfolio is $185 million - slightly above the
original estimate of $180 million . The bank added
there is a low possibility the losses could swell to $600
million. NAB shares were down 8 cents, 0.3%, to
$29.84."
Bit of a difference between $185 million and $600 million!! Does seem to me that it may be dependent on which which way the Australian dollar swings. Wonder what they define as a low possibility (1%, 5%, 50%???).
