There is a sales book out there by Frank Bettger "How I multiplied my income and happomess in selling", he wrote of a experience during the great depression.

His sales were rising in leaps and bounds, he did not understand what economics were or what a depression was.. so he kept contacting leads and doing business.

Then one of his senior colleages explained to him how bad business was. Frank then felt guilty about making sales. His figures went down the drain? Why?

It wasn't because the world around him had changed, it was because his PERCEPTION of the world around him had changed.

As soon as he realised this and started contacting leads he become one of the best sales persons in his company.
