I'm over my full moon fever and back out of the cave... so a little less punch crazy today, lol...

I like your approach mate... the whole depression recession doom end of world thing can be pretty hard to understand from a personal or micro level.

Having lived in abject poverty a number of times (both through choice and circumstance) I've found that personal happiness can be totally irrelevant to personal wealth... probably my richest life expereinces occurred when I was a starving illegal artist in Ireland, living in a shed that was basically an extension to an outside toilet... furnished with things that other people threw out and earning about 50 quid a week selling bent forks at the local craft market while paying 40 quid a week to rent my "outhouse".

I had women breaking into my place to sleep with me, crazy nights on cheap red wine talking philosophy with a ragtag mob of poets, PHD students and garrulous old phogies with no teeth, and I ate wll on the fish and chips left half eaten by the drunken tourists too smashed to take them from the outside tables and chuck them in the bin. Absolutely fantastic times.


Having never been at lofty heights of personal wealth and consumption, I've never experienced the "fall from grace" to say the levels I mentioned above, which could be horrific to someone used to a macmansion, eating only in restaurants and perhaps unaware of the missing joys of ragtag human company.

In my opinion, we are already in a recession, this will be ongoing and painful for some, while for others an opportunity of a lifetime is occurring... the cycles will go on.

May all who read this post be those who learn see opportunity in everything (even if it is just understanding and rejoicing in their own incredible pain tolerance and ability to survive), for I truly beleive, mindset is everything, and joy is where you make it.
