Thank God for Malcolm Turnbull.
He managed to lose the Republic referendum, fortuitously in retrospect because the last thing we need is a president with imperial powers which could be as capable as Bush.
Malcolm will spend the next 12 years in the political wilderness. Before he goes he ushers in energy and water trading and quietly invests a few million in the next fluorescent light bulb monopoly. That's contingency planning.
