It would be a lot harder with less shares to take a big stake as you would stick out from the bunch driving the price up, and not getting at or near the price you wanted.
You could also say the opp about the DTers without them and them pushing it up to begin with it would become stale and depressed and lack momentum in both ways so no one makes a buck, so you get bigger swings, big swings is what the market is about on growth stocks. Once they become a div stock most times the swings are less or they balance out, then you get the slow and steady trends which brings the big fund coys into play because of the risk is lower. And 1/2 the posters here wouldn't touch it mainly due to it takes a lot of time to make a quick buck.
