Interesting comment! Xi was smart enough to nominate his deputy to oversight and manage the Cov-19 issue, thereby cementing hhis own position politically and having a fall guy in place. Following on from Xi's playbook Trump also did the same with Pence
The risk now globally as knee-jerk reaction may be the introduction of stronger isolationist policies by government with a bias towards stronger national self sufficiency. One of the main issues emerging currently is the lack of local resource availability because of the reliance on the international market place. Not helping either with countries putting caveats on the export of drugs and other essentials to which the global market place has currently relied upon.
