I have a feeling that the ALP (which the Greens have them by the gonads) has just given BSL the perfect excuse to expand offshore frion now on and slowly decommission the Australian operations.
The day we learn of a BSL building a blast furnace in China will be the ultimate dream come true. By then, BSL can say to Gillard (hopefully Labor will be kicked out by then), you have been warned.
That would be a huge boost to the company and share holders (but terrible for local jobs - thanks to the ALP).
BSL is a business, it's not a charity. It will and should go wherever provides the best condition to be profitable.
As for OST, they should close down Whyalla and just focus on and to expand the IO mining business. Instantly the SP will spike through the roof.
