    a very simplistic opinion. Of course Rudd and his government know what they are doing. They have access to economic data and advice from the various government departments, afterall, that is what our public servants are for, and all governments (including the Howard government) rely on the government departments for policy positions from which the government of the day makes a decision, after taking into account the political impacts of its decisions.

    This meeting with business leaders in Sydney was just another opportunity for Rudd to exchange views with those business leaders present. Rudd taking notes ? Even if he did do that, it is no big deal. Taking notes of the opinions of those present is a good practice, it does not mean he is going to religiously implement those opinions.
