Anvil to move ahead with new DRC venture
Base-metals junior Anvil has completed a due diligence review of the Mutoshi copper-cobalt project, located in the Kolwezi Region of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and has committed itself to the development of a starter-project, which is expected to be in production before the end of 2005.

The company has also completed an initial resource evaluation on the first 7,5 km of the Kulumaziba coarse-rejects/tailings deposit and outlined an inferred mineral resource (to a depth of three metres) of 1,5-million tons, at 6,8% copper for approximately 102 000 t of contained copper. As a result of the higher grades than expected from the initial resource evaluation work on the Kulumaziba coarse rejects/tailings deposit, the company modified its development strategy and opted for relocating the now surplus heavy media separation (HMS) plant from its Dikulushi Mine to Kolwezi, rather than building a larger, new HMS plant.
