There is a combined-cycle gas generator beside the mothballed nickel refinery at Yabulu. AEMO would allow a big user to set up beside it and sign an independent contract for supply of power outside the official market. Iirc a bitcoin miner was looking at doing something similar with a coal fired power station in the Hunter.
