    jantimot,

The company has advised that it is looking into the feasibility of increasing production to beyond the 3 million tonnes per annum to between 6 and 15 million tonnes per annum.

CuDeco would not be doing this if they had ruled it out.

You imply from your post that you know more than the CuDeco Board who thought this study was justified.

Sure the rich lode will be exploited to generate excellent profits in the early years and to maintain future profits ,a lift in production to handle the lesser grades is a logical consequence. It is called forward planning.

One should not overlook two facts:-

What is being shown up in the current mining are grades in excess of what were JORC qualified and what were thought to be voids were found to be not so.

There are numerous areas on the original leases yet to be explored or fully explored and an exploration period of ten years has been mentioned and that was before the addition of the new blocks. Further successes could extend the life of mine not even taking into account the mining of Wilgar.

We will get an indication of how the Jorc figures match up with actual mining when we have some figures from the opening up of the open cuts at Rocklands South , Rocklands Central and Le Meridian.

Mining at Las Minerale has thrown up grades in excess of the JORC figures and mining is yet to reach the 45 -46 metre level where the good stuff starts.
