Fortunately for CuDeco indeed. Xstrata [ Mt Isa Mines ] has been king pin in the region for 90 years and CuDeco is intruding on their patch. Cable sent to London in 1924 Mt Isa " fabulously rich ".

Xstrata's intentions with respect to their future operations in the Mt Isa region remain unclear .

CuDeco has done well to have retained its independence and not have been obliged to take on a relationship with the likes of Xstrata in the form of a joint venture for Rocklands.

I much prefer that CuDeco has full control of all of its operations be it mining, rail or port.
