Thanks Nine Lives - I'm happy to hear contrary opinions, views & analysis - but when posters are continually deriding management and the company, with apparent malicious or mischievous intent, it's prudent to reflect on potential legal consequences of such behaviour. If only the commentary on HC was as thoughtful, balanced & well reasoned as BBB's - rather than cheap shots, fearmongering, baiting, unsubstantiated/unsupported accusations, insinuations & innuendos.

Worth reflecting on recent senior management appointments to CCC/CCL, and ponder whether these 3 men would risk their reputations if they thought ContiCoal was not a sound company:

Mike Kilbride - Kilbride, 60, who has more than 35 years’ diversified mining experience, was previously executive director and COO of Exxaro Resources, South Africa’s largest empowered resource company. During his stint as Exxaro executive director, he was appointed chairperson of the boards of Sishen Iron Ore Company, Kumba, Exxaro Coal and Ticor South Africa.

Connie Molusi - Mr Molusi brings with him more than twenty five (25) years broad experience and knowledge in South Africa's business sector. Mr Molusi previously held the position of Executive Director and Group Chief Executive Officer of Johnnic Communications, South Africa's leading media group.

Mr Molusi was also Media Advisor for the South African Government's Reconstruction and Development Programme, and to the South African Minister of Communications. Mr Molusi has previously served as President of Print Media South Africa, and is Past Chairman of Newspaper Association as well as a member of the board of Directors of the World Association of Newspapers.

In addition to his position as Chairperson of SIOC-cdt, Mr Molusi has also held the following directorships: Board of Governors for the Business Coalition on HIV/AIDS, Trustee of WWF South Africa, Member of the Board of Media Development and Diversity Agency, Member of the Board of the Institution for the Advancement of Journalists, Non Executive Chairman of Wethy Investment Group, Chairman of Telkom Media, Member of the Board of Governors of Rhodes University, Non-Executive Director of Petro SA, Chairman of the African Media and Entertainment and Chairman of the Johannesburg Tourism Company.

Note that Mr Molusi is also a personal advisor to Jacob Zuma on State Oil & Energy Policy (via Petro SA).

Johan Bloemsma - involved in coal mining for more than 41 years in areas including South Africa, Australia, the U.S., Canada and Colombia. Most recently, he was CEO of AMCI Capital's AMCI Africa arm. He was with Anglo American for 37 years, including 33 years at the Anglo Coal unit, Continental said. ... During his 37 years with Anglo American, the last 33 of which have been with Anglo Coal, Johan has operated in various production capacities on the mines, including General Manager positions before moving to the corporate head office where he managed groups of mines as a Consulting Engineer.

For the last 10 years, Johan has been pursuing his passion, which he describes as Strategy Development, and as Head of Projects, has led the Anglo Coal growth strategy both within South Africa and into the global coal arena, most notably Australia.

    ...

BTW - have a look at US Coal stocks – all at 12 month lows.

Peabody, Alpha Natural Resources and Arch Energy off between 55% and 70% over past 12 months and also off almost 30% in 2012.
