Mihal, your post got TOUed and I nearly modded it on the basis that posters are supposed to be discussing the stock and not lecturing other posters on the evils of defamation.
However I decided to leave your post as it is a timely reminder to everyone how serious defamation is and what the consequences can be.
That said, it is not defamation to have a contrary view on a stock. If a poster does not believe in the fundamentals of a company then they should be free to discuss why they feel that was and should not be subjected to posters who are pro the stock trying to muddy the waters with defamation scare tactics.
As long as everyone here remembers that is never EVER ok under any circumstances to post on HC that an asx company rep has acted in some way inappropriately even if you believe you have strong evidence to support your claim. If that is ever the case you should approach the appropriate authorities with your concerns.....just don't discuss it here.
But if you simply have concerns about the fundamentals of a company (eg low grade mineralization, low cash holding etc) then those issues are by all means up for discussion.
I thought this little incident today may be a good time to distinguish the difference between contrary views and defamation.
