Agreed, it's in the companies interest for the price to remain high, but their power over the price is limited.
The Instos and 'sophisticated investors' who always seem to get the good end of any capital raising would rather sell now at around $7, forcing the price down, meaning the company has to release more shares to raise the same money, thus forcing a bigger discount to them.
The Company should declare that any and all future capital raisings will be 'pure' rights issues, but that'd annoy the big end of town.
