Dudes, just posted on QGC, personally dont think it is a takeover on the basis that most will be friendly and they would have announced that discussions were taking place.
What are the chances of a hostile takeover of MPO, ESG or both or any other company.
As indicated on QGC, seems a strange way to do a takeover.
If QGC were interested wouldnt they have started buying the minimum amount before triggering significant shareholder notices.
They had $180m in cash at 31 December 2007, so could swallow up MPO at $1 a share with no borrowings.
Need to wait.
But irrespective, MPO needs to produce gas.
