"You see that’s a bit selfish imo as it disregards the rights of those who have leased it and made improvements to benefit all Australians."

no - they only have the right to run cows - nothing else

and, no they have not improved it - they have and are destroying it - ref. WA department recommendations

and no, they do NOT benefit all Australians - they destroy the environment and they inhibit free access

the vast bulk of the land is empty - devoid of animals and in many cases flora - they sit on it for years waiting for some rain then run cows or sheep and eat it to oblivion -

in the meantime - the actual owners - us -- have to search them out - and tell them that we are going on their pastoral leases

if it's so precious as you say and the 'tenants' as you describe them have such 'rights' as you suggest -

why then, do pastoral lease holders not have to inform mining companies when they will be on the exploration/prospecting/mining leases?

it's utter BS - and, it is most definitely NOT freedom -

if they want unfettered access to the land - then, buy it --------- give us, the owners, the money -------- make it torrens title

You do understand that your arguments actually restrict the movement of Australians to pretty well all of Australia do you not???????

restricting movement is a pretty well class one act in the lack of freedom stakes.
