Justvabout all LIC's at the moment are trading below their NTA. A few examples:
    AFI - Jan SP $6.33 NTA $5.83. April SP $5.94 NTA $6.19.
DJW: Trading now at a discount after generally being at a premium of 10 -20 % for years
FSI: April SP $1.73 NTA $2.14
MIR : SP = NTA after trading at a premium of abt 15% just a few months ago.
The questions are - why?, and when, if at all, will they bounce back?
I think this is partially due to the Franking Credit debate and also the general shift from LIC's to ETF's. I used to think that I could be clever by being nimble and getting in at a discount and then selling out at a premium. This often ended being the opposite for me!
My approach now is not to chase discounts, be patient with essentially good fund managers, and to follow the markets more with some diversified ETF's. I've given up on fund managers that charge up to 1.5% on their fees for performances that generally struggle to match the market.
