Since Moscow Mitch plans to hypocritically ram through an appointment in an election year, the wider question becomes: why should the majority of Americans accept a Supreme Court far to the religious Right of the average voter, and elected by Senators representing only a minority? Seems like a recipe for societal disaster.
Both from a societal stability and a political perspective, the Dems have a solid case to expand SCOTUS to 11 or 13.
