I find it quite disturbing and sickening that people should cheer the Pell verdict. Only 2 people know for sure whether he is actually guilty. Whilst there is a degree of doubt then we should refrain from cheering IMHO. And it was a 2-1 verdict. Are they cheering because the right man is going back to jail? They don't know that! A good article in the Oz today reminding us of the Lindy Chamberlain case. No doubt people were cheering when she was first found guilty. Are they cheering now? Don't get me wrong. I'm not carrying the candle for Pell. I'm not even a Christian.
